Agree with both Drs. @Ong and @Adey on their assessment of the utility of using surveillance biopsies. The reality is that many transplant centers have outsourced their renal allograft biopsies to radiology/IR, and thus may not have the same degree of control over how and when biopsies are performed...

At our center, we do 6-month surveillance biopsies for all patients as standard of care.
