Do you use any alternative or non-FDA-approved treatments for smoking cessation?  

I've never prescribed anything beyond those three mentioned. I did have a patient with GAD who was anxious about quitting and finding better treatment for the GAD gave her the confidence to use nicotine replacement to successfully quit. Different forms of nicotine may be easier or harder to quit. One strategy is to get patients to slowly shift from smoking cigarettes to using tobacco-free nicotine pouches (not gum or lozenges, which have slow PK).
