Do you use anticonvulsant prophylaxis in patients with multiple CNS metastases absent a history of seizures?
Is there data related to types of metastases (tumor histology, anatomic distribution, hemorrhagic, diffuse, size, edema etc.) and risk for seizure? Would a relatively asymptomatic patient be considered safe to drive an automobile?
Answer from: Medical Oncologist at Academic Institution
If there’s never been a seizure, I do not recommend anticonvulsant prophylaxis.
